AUTHOR, EDITOR, SPEAKER

About Me

John Matthew Fox is a developmental editor of fiction, the creator of four writing courses, and the founder of Bookfox, a website providing resources for three million writers annually. He spends most of his days helping authors to write better books, and the rest creating his own fictional worlds, such as his book, “I Will Shout Your Name,” a collection of short stories published by Press 53 about missionaries and mysteries.

After earning a creative writing MA from New York University and an MFA from the University of Southern California, he taught writing at the university level for a decade before devoting himself full time to Bookfox, which has been noted by The Guardian, Los Angeles Times, Writer’s Digest, Publisher’s Weekly, and The Huffington Post.  His writing has won the Third Coast Fiction Contest, the Shenandoah Fiction Award, and been published in the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

He’s traveled to more than forty countries and lived in three, yet finally settled down in Orange County, California with his wife, twin boys, and six chickens.
